Denise paints on wood and glass and her paintings are displayed for purchase around the holiday season in the gallery. One of her primary goals is to help others in need whether it is at the studio or in her other work/voluntarism.
Denise is a graduate from Central Maine Medical Center School of Nursing as a CNA working at the Hospice House in Auburn. She is also a graduate of Auburn Maine School of Commerce with an Associates Degree in Medical Secretarial Course and has attended the University of Maine, Lewiston/Auburn. Denise has over 35 years in customer service relations, starting at the age of 15 as a car hop at an A&W Root Beer to the most recent retirement at the Sun Journal. While at the Sun Journal, Denise was on the Safety Committee and Longley School Committee. She has been a hospice volunteer for the past 3 years for Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice and is active on committees to help with their fund raisers. Denise has done mission work in Romania through East Auburn Baptist Church and will be doing mission work again in the future.
Denise is a believer of God's teachings and tries to be a disciple in many avenues of her life. She is a member of Sacred Heart Church in Auburn. Family is extremely important to her and you can often see her caring for loved ones especially her husband Nel. Nel and Denise are coming up to their 25th Anniversary in July, 2008. You can often hear her say, "It has been a terrific and awesome ride to share my life with my true friend. Though things have not always been rosy, both know that we are always there for each other. Nel has been an inspiration to me and the unconditional faith, knowledge, love, understanding I see him give everyday of his life to those around him is so astounding to me! He is what I can truly call a true disciple.
Denise loves to sing, make baskets and one of her future goals is to take piano lessons.
